Reiki isn't just for us. it can help our beloved pets too.

Having had a passion for animals my whole life and a natural affinity with them I soon realised after becoming a Reiki Practitioner just how open animals are to receiving Reiki and immediately wanted to start sharing Reiki with them.

I started volunteering for local animal shelters and local rescue animals after seeing the huge benefits they receive.

Just as in humans Reiki is great for animals’ wellbeing, healing and stress relief. That we can heal an animal that is physically ill, is obvious. But even animals that are afraid, having psychological problems, trouble adjusting, or trying to cope with a traumatic experience can find deep healing through Reiki.

Pet dogs can be quite highly strung and having family members leave them alone can be quite a traumatic experience. If your dog seems to bark too much, resists getting trained or tends to chew up everything in the house when alone, Reiki can help.

Recently the Coronavirus lockdown has had devastating effects on a lot of us humans, yet in many cases has been great for our family pets. All this time at home has meant they have benefited from lots more special time with us – extra walks, cuddles and attention.

The trouble is that separation anxiety is something many dogs are now going to be struggling with as we go back to work and spend less time with them at home. Our pet dogs love nothing more than to spend time with their human family as much as possible. Although they like their own space too, the change in routine can have an adverse effect on them. Reiki can greatly help with this.

Working with animals in their own environment works best however distance healing can work just as well as in person and is a great option for lots of animals.
